The number one Serbian national restaurant for Belgrade visitors - absolutely must visit - even if you are not a fan of the local cuisine. The authentic styling depicts various aspects of Serbian folklore and village lifestyle. It has a beautiful garden and a spacious interior, while the menu has all the musts of Serbian cooking. Start with a local appetizer and ask for a shot of rakija - you’ll be offered a wide selection, but we recommend you try quince, pear, plum (slivovitz), or honey (especially popular with the ladies). After that, definitely go for starters - the best way to go is to ask for their assorted starter for the given number of persons, and you will be served a variety of salads, spreads, dips, pies, and all sorts of Serbian delicacies - certainly including the renowned kajmak and ajvar. For the main course, we suggest you ask your waiter for tips - the choice is plentiful and selection can be difficult if you’re not familiar with the cuisine.
Traditional desserts are served so don’t miss them - our favorites include šnenokle, orasnice, or any type of pie. Dačo restaurant in Belgrade serves a reasonable selection of local and international wine, and their house wine is also worth a try. The service is pleasant and professional, but make sure to book a table as it can be quite crowded.
