Belgrade Arena, 11.10.2008
Alicia J. Augello-Cook (born January 25, 1981) better known by name Alicia Keys, winner of eleven Grammy Awards, seventeen Billboard Music Awards and 3 American music awards - is finally coming to Belgrade. This amazing woman has started in Harlem where she was raised by her mother. She began playing piano at age of seven, and was valedictorian at the age of sixteen - however although she was accepted at prestigious Columbia university she decided that she is worth more than that and she decided to start pursuing her music career.
Very early she recorded a song "Dah Dee Dah (Sexy Thing)" but the song was just an introduction in her brilliant career. Her first bigger success came with
"Songs in A Minor", released on June 5, 2001 which was sold in amazing ten million units. The single
"Fallin" was number one on US Billboard Hot 100 for more than a month. Single "A Woman's Worth" was within the top ten in America and most of the reviews she received were fantastic.
"The Diary of Alicia Keys", her second album was released on December 2, 2003. To date, it has sold nine million copies worldwide.
The singles "You Don't Know My Name" and "If I Ain't Got You" were the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. Single,
"Diary", entered the top ten. Keys went on to become the best-selling female R&B artist of 2004.
At the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, Keys won "Best R&B Video" for
"If I Ain't Got You".
At the 2005 Grammy Awards, she won four Grammy Awards: "Best Female R&B Vocal Performance" for
"If I Ain't Got You", "Best R&B Song" for "You Don't Know My Name", "Best R&B Album" for
"The Diary of Alicia Keys", and "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" for
"My Boo" with Usher.
In November 2007 her new album "As I am" was released. In only ten hours
"No One" single reached the top of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list. The album had tremendous success worldwide and is the best representation not only of her great voice but also of passion and dedication that the Superwoman has demonstrated in the last decade.
